Hello there everyone!
Welcome yet again to a new post. I hope you are all doing great and are staying healthy! As we all know, there’s a lot going on. However, if we hold on and stay persistent, we’ll eventually get through it. Don’t focus on the bad, focus on the good! For instance, you might have a little bit more time on your hands (if you sadly can’t do your job (as normally) anymore). Maybe, right now, you realize how important you are (if you are for instance working in the health sector). Anyway, just remember, there’s light at the end of the tunnel!
But you came here to read about my drawing, not to hear about some mumbling, so let’s get into that.
As you might know, I’ve drawn several Pokémon in the past. I’ve drawn Pikachu, Elekid, Ralts, Grookey, Piplup and Shinx. Make sure to check these drawings out if you haven’t already! Today, I decided to draw some more Pokémon.
You probably saw the drawing from the thumbnail, so let’s elaborate a bit. I’ve drawn three different Pokémon on one sheet of paper. Cyndaquil, Squirtle and Turtwig. Of course, I started out by sketching. The final sketch can be seen below.

After sketching with my pencil, I overlined the pencil with my fineliner. I sadly can’t show this, as I forgot to take a picture of my progress at this time.
If you know a bit about Pokémon, you might know that in every Pokémon game, you can choose one out of three starters. Different Pokémon games have different ‘generations’ of Pokémon. Every generation one is grass type, one is fire type and one is water type. You can choose one based on which one you find cuter, which one you think is stronger, which one counters your brother’s or based on any other reason.
However, the Pokémon I drew are not from the same Pokémon game and generation. Cyndaquil is from generation 2 (originally Pokémon Gold and Silver), Squirtle is from generation 1 (originally Pokémon Red and Green) and Turtwig is from generation 4 (originally Pokémon Diamond and Pearl). Therefore the title ‘Different Generations’. I don’t really have I reason why I chose these three. Of course, I didn’t want to draw Pokémon I drew before (like Grookey or Piplup). Maybe I chose them because I thought they looked nice? I’m honestly not sure.
After doing the fineliner part, I started giving them colour one by one. I started on the right (with Turtwig) and finished on the left (with Cyndaquil). In hindsight, this wasn’t the optimal order, as I’m right-handed. The ink of the one I just finished was still a little bit wet when I continued with the next one. In my opinion, the one I did first was the worst one out of the three, while the last one was the best.
Let’s look at them one by one. Below you can see all of them in the order I drew them in!

Turtwig,
created with sharpies and water markers.

Squirtle,
created with alcohol makers and water markers.

Cyndaquil,
created with sharpies and alcohol markers.
There we have it! The three Pokémon I drew this time. Also, normally, I take one sheet A4 paper per Pokémon. This time, however, I drew them all on the same sheet of paper. I actually quite like the result. There’s a lot more colour than in a drawing of a single Pokémon. It was a little bit harder though, as I had to be more precise. Below you can see the picture of all of them together!

So, that’s it. Yet another drawing done. Of this one, I’m quite happy. I think especially the Cyndaquil turned out great. Let me know which one is your favourite!
But that’s all for today. Have great week and see you next time.
